Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: ASAP
Salary Range: Up to £65,000pa
Benefits Package: Package available
Location: London
Full Site Based/Hybrid/Remote Working: Fully site based – 5 days per week
Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week
Role Information
- The role requires a commercially aware and detail-focused individual who can work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients while maintaining strong commercial governance
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor within a major construction, engineering, infrastructure or complex project environment.
- Strong experience in commercial and cost management of projects or defined work packages.
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow and cost reporting.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration and change management.
- Experience managing variations, compensation events, claims and/or contractual change.
- Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement, tendering, valuations, payments and account management.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk and opportunity management.
- Experience preparing and reviewing interim valuations and final accounts.
- Strong understanding of commercial governance, cost assurance and audit requirements.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to produce accurate and comprehensive commercial reports for senior management and clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, planning, project controls, procurement, risk and project delivery teams.
- Strong contractual and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to identify issues, assess commercial exposure and escalate matters appropriately.
