Location: Peterhead
Rate: £65 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 42.5/w
Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 days home
Duration: 6 month+ contract
We are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the pre-construction and delivery of a major substation project in Peterhead. The scheme includes a new 400kV substation, a 132kV five-bay substation, associated outbuildings and transformer infrastructure. The overall project is expected to run through to December 2028. You will be responsible for the procurement and commercial management of major subcontract packages, including:
- Groundworks package valued at c. £22m
- Further civils/groundworks package valued at c. £6m
- Structural steelwork and building-envelope packages across three buildings, valued at c. £13m
The role will focus heavily on subcontract procurement, administration and management through delivery. You will work under NEC3 Option A, using CEMAR to manage subcontractor communications and contractual processes.

Requirements

- Senior QS experience on major civils, utilities, energy or power-infrastructure projects
- Strong subcontract procurement and subcontract management experience
- NEC3 experience, ideally Option A
- Commercial experience including valuations, change control, compensation events, forecasting and reporting
- CEMAR experience preferred
- Substation, HV, groundworks, structural steelworks or building-envelope exposure would be beneficial
