Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Stepps / Moredun

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll lead the day-to-day commercial management of an £85M retrofit project in Moredun, involving the upgrade of multiple high-rise towers to bring them up to energy efficiency and safety standards. Working from feasibility and market testing stage through delivery and completion, you'll oversee project commercial staff and ensure that Kier commercial targets are maintained whilst managing cost, risk, and value for money.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in achieving commercial results for the business unit. Your day to day will include:

  • Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement and assessing returns from sub-contractors
  • Negotiating with the sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value and maintaining strong relationships
  • Ensuring that measures are accurate to reflect works completed and managing cash flow effectively
  • Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure through CVR reports
  • Ensuring financial positions of projects are accurately assessed, reported, and controlled with up-to-date commercial information

What We're Looking For

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have a relevant academic qualification – Degree, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
  • You have demonstrable experience in Senior Quantity Surveying positions within the construction main contracting environment
  • You possess strong knowledge of NEC and JCT conditions and procurement and sub-contractor management
  • You have experience working in small works and residential programmes delivering high volume activity
  • You hold a Full driving licence
