Senior Quantity Surveyor – Capital & Asset Management
UK-wide | Permanent | Hybrid/Flexible
£85K - £100K plus 20% bonus
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established organisation operating within the infrastructure and built environment sector.
This is a great opportunity for a commercially astute Senior QS to take ownership of the commercial management of capital and lifecycle asset replacement projects, working across a varied portfolio and alongside senior project, technical and operational stakeholders.
The Role
You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage procurement and tendering through to delivery, commercial close-out and handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing commercial and contractual advice across a portfolio of projects
- Preparing tender documentation and managing tender processes
- Reviewing and analysing tenders, ensuring compliance and value for money
- Managing valuations, payments, variations and expenditure against budget
- Preparing and maintaining accurate cost reports, forecasts and commercial information
- Supporting the procurement and delivery of capital and asset replacement works
- Managing the commercial relationship with consultants, contractors and supply chain partners
- Reviewing contract documentation and maintaining robust commercial records
- Managing change control and contractual variations
- Supporting projects through both pre-contract and post-contract stages
- Negotiating variations, compensation events and final accounts
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting project handover and ensuring commercial matters are appropriately closed out
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within agreed commercial parameters

About You
We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable operating autonomously and managing commercial matters across multiple projects.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Experience working within a PFI, PPP or similarly complex infrastructure environment
- A strong track record of delivering CAPEX, lifecycle or asset replacement projects
- Consultancy, contractor, infrastructure or similar industry experience
- Strong experience across procurement, tendering, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience working in a live operational environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The confidence to work independently and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to resolve complex commercial issues

Qualifications
- HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable, alongside a full UK driving licence.
