Location: Sellafield, Cumbria
Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects in Cumbria.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a long-term programme of work, playing a key role in the commercial delivery of complex, high-value projects within a highly regulated environment.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of major construction packages, working closely with the Commercial Manager and project delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and successfully.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the commercial delivery of nuclear construction projects from procurement through to final account.
  • Administering NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, change control and early warnings.
  • Procuring and managing subcontract packages.
  • Preparing cost forecasts, CVRs and monthly commercial reports.
  • Managing subcontractor valuations, payments and final accounts.
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting project budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and the wider project team.
  • Ensuring commercial procedures and governance are followed throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects.
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
  • Excellent commercial, contractual and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • MRICS or progression towards chartership is advantageous.
  • Previous experience within the nuclear sector is desirable, although candidates from other highly regulated sectors such as defence, energy, utilities or major infrastructure are encouraged to apply.
