Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hampton / Southern Region (Hybrid: 3 days on-site/office)
Salary: £65000 - £75000 + Car Allowance
Primary Focus
Taking full end-to-end commercial ownership and financial management for major capital projects within the infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial & Cost Management:
- Oversee complete quantity surveying functions, including budget compilation, cost-to-complete forecasting, and cost/value reconciliations (CVRs).
- Contract Administration:
- Manage main contract obligations, ensuring early warnings, compensation events, and formal contractual correspondence are submitted accurately and within set timeframes.
- Supply Chain & Subcontracts:
- Draft, issue, and manage subcontract agreements. Evaluate subcontractor performance, monitor progress, and manage payment applications and variations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with engineering, site operations, client representatives, and supply chain partners to control expenditures and drive value engineering.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare regular financial updates, cash flow projections, and commercial risk reports for leadership.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor, guide, and support the professional growth of junior commercial staff.
- Governance & Standards:
- Maintain high professional standards, confidentiality, and active participation in continuous professional development (CPD).

Candidate Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Relevant degree qualification or equivalent professional background.
- Proven track record managing major packages or projects valued in excess of £5M.
- Extensive experience within utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA frameworks.
- Solid working knowledge of NEC3 or IChemE contract suites.

Desirable Criteria
- Experience supervising and developing line reports.
- MRICS/RICS chartership or working towards professional accreditation.
