Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take full ownership of larger, more complex infrastructure projects?

At Severn Trent, we’re investing over £6 billion into our capital programme to deliver critical infrastructure that supports millions of customers and communities.

To deliver this, we’re growing our Capital Commercial team—and we’re looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors to join us in our Coventry, Derby and Shrewsbury offices.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll act as the lead commercial representative across a portfolio of projects, taking full accountability for commercial performance from inception through to final account.

You’ll typically manage larger or more complex projects, operating independently without day-to-day Senior Commercial Manager support, and leading commercial decision-making across your portfolio.

You’ll Make An Impact By

  • Leading the end-to-end commercial management of capital projects and frameworks
  • Acting as the primary commercial point of contact for project teams and supply chain partners
  • Drafting, negotiating, and managing NEC4 contracts (Options A, C and E)
  • Leading negotiations on contracts, compensation events, and final accounts
  • Taking ownership of commercial risk management and project outcomes
  • Challenging costs, identifying efficiencies, and driving value for money
  • Making independent commercial decisions aligned to project objectives
  • Managing complex commercial issues and resolving disputes
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to Quantity Surveyors and early career professionals

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
