About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support major energy and infrastructure projects across Scotland's Central Belt. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the commercial management of significant civil engineering and construction packages, ensuring successful project delivery while maintaining strong commercial performance.
Working within a collaborative project environment, you will manage high-value subcontract packages, oversee contractual compliance, and provide commercial support throughout the project lifecycle. This role is ideal for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC contract experience and a background in major construction, infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects.

- Lead the commercial and contractual management of major civil engineering and construction packages.
- Manage high-value subcontract agreements, ensuring contractual obligations are met and commercial risks are controlled.
- Administer contracts in accordance with NEC3 contract conditions.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract documentation.
- Monitor project costs and produce accurate forecasting and commercial reporting.
- Manage change control processes, including assessment and negotiation of compensation events and variations.
- Support project planning and pre-construction activities.
- Work closely with project delivery teams, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings while protecting project margins.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Strong experience managing large-scale subcontract packages.
- Detailed knowledge and practical application of NEC3 /4 contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing variations, compensation events, and contractual risk.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work effectively across multiple projects and disciplines.
Contract Details
- Location: Central Belt, Scotland
- Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)
- IR35 Status: Outside IR35
