Senior Quantity Surveyor
Sellafield IDP
Full Time (40 hours per week)
circa £70,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience) plus car allowance or company vehicle

About the role
We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Sellafield IDP project.
You will lead all commercial and cost management activities for specific assigned work packages, ensuring alignment with strict nuclear project requirements and contractual obligations and contribute to a result as agreed with local commercial management.
You must carry out commercial tasks and present results in an orderly and accurate format and identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities, working closely with project risk manager(s) to align cost and risk strategies.

The role will enable you to contribute to the development and implementation of commercial strategies to optimise value while maintaining safety and quality standards and requires you to promote a strong commercial awareness culture across the specific assigned work package team, ensuring cost implications are understood at all levels.
Please note that this role will be office based 5 days per week until successful completion of your probationary period where you can then apply to work from home 1 day per week.
About you
It is essential that you hold a Bachelor Honours Degree and that you are RICS accredited. You must have previous experience of working in roles where knowledge of engineering was a key attribute. Including 3 years within the last 5 years working within a regulated and quality assured system in roles reliant upon professional commercial judgement; working in a post where construction was a major part of the role. You must also have a breadth of knowledge across commercial and contractual models.
You will be required to have the ability to prove leadership in a key role and act as a custodian of resource and expertise. Commercial experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including positions influencing professional engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of design and construction works and frameworks is also essential.

The role also requires you to have the ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of commercial matters to inform and direct policy, projects and programmes.
