Senior Quantity Surveyor: Building
Location: London
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Building team, working on a range of projects across London.
The role will focus on fast-track healthcare, education, refurbishment, and occupied-building projects, typically valued between GBP500k and GBP5m.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to take ownership of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with clients, Project Managers, consultants, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of projects valued GBP500k-GBP5m
- Procurement and management of subcontractors
- Cost control, forecasting, valuations, and reporting
- Applications for payment, variations, and commercial claims
- CVRs and financial reporting
- Final accounts and commercial negotiations
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Work closely with operational teams and clients
- Mentor Assistant and Junior Quantity Surveyors

About You
- Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor experience
- Main contractor background preferred
- Experience on GBP500k-GBP5m building projects
- Experience of fast-track projects
- Healthcare, education, refurbishment, or fit-out experience advantageous
- Experience working in live/occupied buildings highly desirable
- Strong commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of procurement, cost control, and final accounts
- RICS qualified or working towards qualification desirable, but not essential
