Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Associate - Consultancy
Southampton
A well-established property consultancy is looking to strengthen its Southampton cost management team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor, at Surveyor, Senior, or Senior Associate level. The business operates across a diverse range of sectors, including residential, commercial, education, and leisure. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS looking to take the next step in their career within a growing consultancy, with the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects and take on increasing responsibility.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor / Senior / Senior Associate, you will be involved in delivering cost management services across a range of projects, working closely with clients, contractors and wider project teams.
Responsibilities
- Providing cost management and quantity surveying services throughout the project lifecycle
- Cost planning, estimating and budgeting
- Measurement and preparation of tender documentation
- Procurement and tender analysis
- Contract administration and commercial management
- Interim valuations, payment applications and cost reporting
- Managing variations, change control and final accounts
- Providing commercial advice to clients and project teams
- Attending site and client meetings
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting junior members of the team and contributing to the continued growth of the Southampton office

Post-contract experience would be highly desirable.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working within a consultancy environment
- Strong pre-contract experience, with post-contract experience highly desirable
- Good knowledge of cost management and commercial processes
- Strong client facing and communication skills
- The ability to manage projects and work independently
- A relevant Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification
The role will involve regular site visits, so candidates should be comfortable travelling to projects across the region where required.
