Bedforshire - UK

Talented people are the key to our success.

Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of a key section of works on one of the UK's most significant rail infrastructure projects?

We are seeking a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major rail project in Bedfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of a once-in-a-lifetime infrastructure scheme, working alongside an experienced project and commercial management team.

Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of a designated section of the project, overseeing subcontract packages from procurement through to final account while ensuring robust cost control and commercial performance throughout.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple subcontract packages across a designated section of the works.
  • Administer subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments, and final accounts.
  • Raise, manage, and negotiate Compensation Events (CEs) under NEC4 contracts.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, and commercial performance against budget.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Prepare and present accurate cost reports, forecasts, and financial updates.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Support the delivery team in achieving project milestones and commercial objectives.
  • Maintain commercial records and reporting through COINS and other project systems.
  • Drive value and cost efficiencies while protecting the commercial interests of the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
