Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Padeswood, Wales
Contract: 12-Month Contract (2-3 year project)
Requirements: 5 days per week on site
Overview
Our client is recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading engineering client's project delivery team on-site in Padeswood.
You will be responsible for managing commercial, contractual, and quantity surveying activities across major construction and engineering projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, change management, valuation, and commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pre- and post-contract commercial activities.
- Prepare and evaluate tender documentation, bids, and contract awards.
- Administer construction contracts and manage contractor performance.
- Review and negotiate variations, compensation events, claims, and final accounts.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Rates, and payment schedules.
- Verify re-measurement activities and certify interim payment applications.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow, risks, and opportunities.
- Produce commercial reports and support project financial governance.
- Provide contractual and commercial advice to project stakeholders.
- Lead commercial meetings and mentor junior commercial team members.

Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership (RICS, MRICS, CIOB, ICES, or equivalent) preferred.
- 7+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Contract Administration.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial, oil & gas, or EPC/EPCM projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, JCT, IChemE, or equivalent contract forms.
- Proven experience with Bills of Quantities, re-measurement contracts, valuations, and payment certification.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
