Principal RF Engineer – Edinburgh (Hybrid)
We’re supporting a leading defence technology organisation in Edinburgh as they expand their RF engineering capability within a next-generation combat air programme. This team is developing advanced multifunction RF systems for future airborne platforms, contributing directly to a major Technology Demonstrator Programme shaping the next era of fire-control radar.
This is a role for an engineer who wants to work at the forefront of RF innovation — designing, testing and integrating complex microwave hardware that will influence future global defence capability.
Hybrid Working
You’ll have flexibility to work from home part of the week, though due to the nature of the projects and security requirements, you should expect to be on-site in Edinburgh around three days per week (varies by project phase).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
