Senior RF Engineer
Location: North London / Hybrid (where applicable)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior RF Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on the development of advanced RF, microwave and antenna technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer to take ownership of significant RF and antenna development activities, supporting products from concept through to manufacture and ongoing product improvement.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, testing and support of RF/microwave modules and antenna systems, while providing specialist technical expertise across the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead antenna and RF equipment development projects, both internally and through external suppliers or subcontractors.
- Design, develop and maintain RF and antenna solutions, supporting product improvements and obsolescence management activities.
- Derive, review and manage technical requirements and specifications, ensuring effective verification and validation.
- Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, quality teams and supply chain functions.
- Support external RF and antenna developments and maintain production test solutions.
- Assist manufacturing teams with technical problem-solving, trend analysis and root cause investigations.
- Ensure engineering procedures, quality standards and best practices are followed throughout design and production processes.
- Generate work estimates, plan activities and manage smaller engineering work packages.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing functions.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in PCB design at microwave frequencies, including schematic manipulation and layout review.
- Strong understanding of RF component selection and application, including:
- High Power RF Amplifiers
- Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs)
- Limiters
- Circulators
- Filters
- Mixers
- Phase Locked Loops (PLLs)
- Experience with RF system design, including cascade analysis.
- Proficiency in the use of RF test equipment such as:
- Spectrum Analysers
- Vector Network Analysers (VNAs)
- Strong knowledge of antenna theory, design and testing, including array antennas, slotted array antennas and printed antennas.
- Experience of Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT) principles.
- Understanding of production environments and manufacturing processes, including SMT.
- Excellent communication skills with strong written and verbal English.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience using Altium Designer.
- Experience using Altair RF and antenna design software.
- Knowledge of radar systems or other RF-intensive applications such as communications systems.
- Understanding of digital electronics and/or power supply design.
- Experience with requirements management and systems engineering methodologies.
- Test automation experience using tools such as MATLAB or Python.
- Understanding of EMC principles and compliance.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and approvals, including FCC, ETSI and ITU requirements.
