About the Role
LIPS Healthcare is expanding and growing its teams. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Radiographer to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the continued development of our General X-ray service, combining hands-on radiography with clinical leadership, patient flow coordination, radiation safety, governance, and day-to-day service management.
You’ll work closely with our Radiologists, Clinical Director, Lead Radiologist, and Operations team, while providing supervision, specialist guidance, and support to radiographers.
We’re looking for someone who is clinically confident, takes ownership of high standards, and enjoys being part of a growing service where they can make a real impact.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll play a key role in:
- Delivering safe, high-quality radiography examinations while maintaining excellent patient care.
- Ensuring radiation protection standards are consistently maintained in accordance with ALARA, IR(ME)R, and IRR17.
- Coordinating efficient patient flow within the General X-ray service.
- Supervising radiographers, students, and junior team members.
- Providing specialist advice and clinical guidance to colleagues.
- Working alongside Radiologists on imaging protocols and examination decisions.
- Identifying and escalating urgent findings appropriately.
- Supporting departmental audits, governance, and quality improvement.
- Reporting and supporting the investigation of clinical incidents and complaints.
- Maintaining the Radiology rota and liaising with agency providers where required.
- Supporting the development and optimisation of imaging services.
- Ensuring equipment, stores, and the clinical environment are maintained safely and effectively.
- Supporting the training, CPD, and professional development of colleagues.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- HCPC registration and current authority to practise as a Medical Radiation Practitioner.
- Valid IRR17 licence or certification.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience as a Radiographer in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Extensive understanding of diagnostic imaging techniques.
- Strong knowledge of radiation protection, clinical governance, and relevant legislation.
- Experience supervising, supporting, or developing other staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage patient concerns professionally and compassionately.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable
- Current Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) certification, or willingness to undertake the training.
- Experience in service development, clinical audit, and quality improvement.
- Experience developing or reviewing imaging protocols.
- Previous experience in a senior radiographer or equivalent role.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or senior management experience.
