Your role and responsibilities

As a Senior Reablement Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting both customers and colleagues by:

  • Completing initial risk assessments with customers to identify and manage potential risks, ensuring safe and effective reablement support.
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for Reablement Support Workers, providing guidance, support, and advice.
  • Supporting the development of new team members through shadowing opportunities and sharing your knowledge and experience.
  • Working closely with the Home First Team Leader and assisting with delegated tasks, including medication observations and supporting the training of new staff.
  • Delivering high-quality frontline care and, where required, supporting customers with dignified personal care.
  • Collaborating with assessment colleagues to monitor customer progress and support the achievement of agreed goals and outcomes.

This role involves working a flexible shift pattern to meet the needs of the service. Shifts will include a mixture of morning and evening working, along with every other weekend and bank holidays where these fall within your rota. Shift patterns may vary and evolve in line with service requirements, offering flexibility while ensuring high-quality support is provided to the people we serve.

You will need

  • A Level 2 qualification in Care, Care Certificate, or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience in frontline care delivery.
  • A caring, compassionate, and person-centred approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and confidence using email and mobile applications.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence in lone working, making sound decisions, and recognising when concerns need to be escalated.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Travel requirements

This role involves travelling to peoples’ homes in rural locations and driving in various weather conditions, including during hours of darkness, which may occur early in the morning or late in the evening. You will therefore require a valid driving licence and access to a car.
