Senior / Lead React Native Engineer | Consumer App | React Native | Mobile Architecture | Payments | Well-funded Startup | Up to £90,000 | Hybrid London
I'm working with a well-funded consumer technology business that's transforming how customers discover and purchase premium products online.
With strong backing, an established customer base and ambitious growth plans, they're now looking for a Senior / Lead React Native Engineer to take ownership of their mobile platform.
This is a high-impact role where you'll help shape architecture, engineering standards, product quality and delivery processes, while working on business-critical customer journeys including payments and checkout.
As the first permanent internal mobile leadership hire, you'll have genuine influence over the platform's future direction.
What you'll be doing
- 📱 Owning and evolving a React Native application across iOS and Android
- 🏗️ Shaping mobile architecture, engineering standards and technical direction
- 💳 Building and optimising payment, checkout and transactional user journeys
- 🎨 Working closely with Product and Design to deliver high-quality user experiences
- ⚡ Improving performance, reliability and application quality
- 🚀 Leading release cycles and helping improve delivery processes and speed to market
- 👥 Mentoring engineers and driving best practices across mobile development

What they're looking for
- ✔ 5-7+ years' experience building mobile applications with React Native
- ✔ Strong experience with React Native, TypeScript, Expo and modern mobile tooling
- ✔ Experience with Stripe, Shopify, Auth0 or similar third-party integrations
- ✔ Strong understanding of payment flows, authentication and customer-facing products
- ✔ Experience supporting and troubleshooting both iOS and Android native/RN issues
- ✔ A strong eye for UX, UI quality and design implementation accuracy
- ✔ Experience influencing architecture, delivery processes and engineering standards
- ✔ Comfortable mentoring others and operating in a high-ownership environment

Package:
- 💷 Up to £90,000 base
- 📍 London Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
