Our platform manages the end-to-end installation process for a complete range of modern home energy solutions - from high-efficiency boilers and air conditioning to heat pumps, solar panels, battery storage, and EV chargers. No matter what we are installing, our ethos remains the same: we use technology to make buying, installing and maintaining products an efficient, stress-free, seamless experience for our users.
Every year millions of people come to our site to get a fixed-price quote. We’ve installed over 200,000 products so far, while establishing a network of more than 15,000 professionally accredited installers. Our revolutionary platform is market-leading. And we’ve got the supporters to shout about it. We’re backed by Brookfield and work in partnership with some of the world’s most famous household names.
The role
We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join our fast-paced, full-stack product team, delivering innovative solutions that enhance the experiences of our customers, installers, and operations team. As a Senior Engineer, you'll play a key role in refining business requirements, collaborating with your teammates to turn ideas into actionable tickets, and implementing solutions.
Your primary focus will be on our mobile applications (iOS/Android), built using React Native, while working closely with our backend services built in Ruby (Rails) with a Postgres database. Communication between the mobile apps and backend happens over a JSON API. You'll also lead by example in maintaining top-tier code quality by reviewing your teammates' work, sharing feedback, and welcoming input on your own.
Key responsibilities
- Mobile App Architecture & Development: Lead the architectural design, build, and maintain robust, scalable mobile applications using React Native (iOS/Android), ensuring seamless integration with our backend JSON APIs
- Technical Leadership: Act as a technical anchor for the mobile stack, taking a leading role in discussions around application structure, state management, and tackling new technical challenges
- Feature Ownership: Take ownership of complex mobile features from concept to deployment; assisting the Product Team in scoping requirements, providing technical insights, and managing technical debt
- High-Quality Engineering: Write clean, efficient, reliable, maintainable and well-documented code that adheres to best practices, driving the adoption of Test-Driven Development, test automation, and Continuous Delivery
- User Interface Excellence: Develop highly interactive, user-centric mobile applications with responsive UI/UX designs that ensure a seamless experience across iOS and Android
- Code Quality & Collaboration: Actively participate in code reviews to maintain high standards, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating feedback into your own work
- Mentorship: Actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the mobile team
- Debugging & Maintenance: Proactively debug and resolve complex technical issues in production to ensure high app stability and performance
- Engineering Leadership & Advocacy: Proactively identify inefficiencies in our mobile development workflow or tooling (e.g. CI/CD, deployment pipelines) and lead the implementation of solutions. You will champion high-quality standards and hold the team accountable for best practices
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging mobile technologies, bringing fresh ideas to the team to improve our mobile codebase, organisation, and automation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
