Senior React &.NET Technical Lead Opportunity
6-Month Contract | Hybrid (London Waterloo)
£600 to £800 per day inside IR35 via umbrella
We're seeking a highly experienced Senior React &.NET Technical Lead to join a major transformation programme, helping drive the migration of an existing application into a modern React-based architecture.
This is far more than a traditional development role. You'll play a key part in defining the technical vision, shaping architecture, leading the migration strategy, establishing infrastructure and deployment pipelines, and mentoring engineers throughout the delivery lifecycle.

The Opportunity
You'll be leading the migration of an existing application currently running within a Databricks environment to a scalable, enterprise-grade React and.NET solution.
The successful contractor will combine hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, taking ownership of solution design, delivery approach, and team guidance.
You'll be joining an established engineering function of around 12 engineers and will play a critical role in driving best practices across application development, architecture, DevOps, and modern software delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration from Databricks Apps to a React-based application
- Design and architect scalable end-to-end solutions
- Build and modernise React front-end applications
- Develop and enhance.NET backend services
- Define deployment, infrastructure, and CI/CD strategies
- Make key architectural and technical decisions
- Mentor and support junior developers and engineers
- Collaborate closely with data engineering teams
- Drive technical excellence throughout the programme
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with React
- Strong backend engineering expertise with.NET
- Proven experience leading technical projects, application modernisation or migration initiatives
- Ability to design, architect and deliver end-to-end solutions
- Experience establishing infrastructure, deployment processes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
Desirable Experience
- Data-focused environments and platforms
- AI-enabled development practices or AI-driven solutions
- Node.js
- C#
- Java
- Trading or financial markets experience
