Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a Senior Real World Evidence Expert who is scientifically rigorous, strategically minded, and collaborative to join our Real‑World Evidence (RWE) team, helping to shape evidence generation strategies that support better decisions for patients, healthcare systems, and the broader scientific community. This position can be based in Brussels, Belgium; Slough, UK; Monheim, Germany or Atlanta, USA.
About the Role
As Senior RWE Expert, you will be responsible for designing and delivering global real‑world evidence (RWE) studies that generate impactful insights across the product lifecycle. You will contribute to strategic decision‑making by developing evidence that supports research and development activities, regulatory requirements, payer needs, and clinical practice.
In this role, you will help drive the development of asset‑level RWE strategies, working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to identify evidence gaps, generate meaningful insights, and advance innovative approaches to evidence generation. You will also contribute to the evolution of real‑world data capabilities and methodologies that strengthen UCB’s ability to address complex healthcare challenges.
Who You’ll Work With
You will work closely with RWE Strategy Leads, Epidemiology and Evidence Synthesis teams, Safety and Pharmacovigilance colleagues, Biostatisticians, Data Scientists, and external research partners. You will collaborate across global functions to ensure evidence generation activities are aligned with strategic priorities and deliver meaningful value to patients and stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, execution, and delivery of complex global RWE studies on time and within budget.
- Develop study concepts, protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study documentation to support evidence generation objectives.
- Drive epidemiology, natural history, disease burden, comparative effectiveness, safety, and post‑launch evidence generation initiatives.
- Lead secondary data studies and represent RWE in primary data collection study teams.
- Collaborate with external vendors, academic researchers, and medical experts to ensure high‑quality study execution.
- Interpret and communicate study findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the development and execution of asset‑level RWE strategies and evidence plans.
- Identify and implement innovative study designs, advanced analytics methodologies, and new real‑world data sources.
- Contribute to scientific publications, abstracts, posters, presentations, and external communications.
- Act as a trusted subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance and championing scientifically robust methodologies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
