About the Team
The post sits within the Resident & Commercial Services division which is responsible for a range of customer facing services such as Leisure (Active Lambeth), Libraries, Registrars, Parking & Network Management as well as capital delivery projects.
Active Lambeth transferred in-house on 1st April 2023. The in-house team is responsible for all aspects of service delivery, including day to day operations, sales, marketing & customer services, policies & procedures. There are five swimming pools across the estate as well as sports halls, family leisure zones, gyms and racket sport facilities.

About the Role
A Senior Recreation Assistant is responsible for the cleaning, preparation and general safety in a sport and recreation facility, including administering first aid. At this level, they will also have some involvement in management of staff rotas and setting and leading of operational duties for a small team of recreation assistants when on shift.
They are expected to act as a mentoring role model to other recreation assistants and be responsible for some staff training, for example inductions. In all cases Senior Recreation Assistants may be the first point of contact with customers and will need strong communication and social skills. They also act as keyholders and can open and close facilities.
