Part-Time | Remote (occasional London) | c.20–25 hrs/week
Charles Alan is a growing talent delivery and workforce transformation business, working with major organisations across the UK, US and India. We're looking for an experienced recruiter to join us part-time and take real ownership of delivery across a varied client base.
The role
You'll run permanent and contract searches across areas including Technology, Cyber, Data & AI, Transformation, Banking and Investment Management. These are often senior or specialist searches for clients who expect them handled properly, from taking the brief through to close.
It's genuinely varied work. One week you might be building out a team of cyber engineers; the next, placing a senior hire, mapping skills for a transformation programme or helping a client think through where and how to build a new capability.
Some briefs will be familiar. Others might be slightly left field. We want someone who's comfortable being given a problem, getting into the market and working out how to solve it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
As we grow, we're increasingly working with clients beyond individual hires, on skills, workforce planning, AI and how organisations build the teams they'll need next. We want someone who wants to be part of that broader work, not just fill roles.
What you'll bring
You've spent a good few years in recruitment and know how to run a search properly from start to finish, across different levels and disciplines. You're self-directed, commercially sharp and comfortable being handed something unfamiliar and working out how to solve it.
- A strong track record in permanent recruitment
- Experience recruiting across different levels and disciplines
- Exposure to areas such as Technology, Transformation, Cyber, Data or AI
- Experience within Banking, Financial Services or Professional Services would be welcome
- An understanding of contract/consulting recruitment and how to build delivery teams
- Strong sourcing and market-mapping skills
- The judgement and confidence to own your searches independently and represent us well with senior clients and candidates

Why Charles Alan?
We're small enough that you'll have real autonomy and a genuine voice in how the business develops, but we're already trusted by major organisations with increasingly interesting recruitment and workforce challenges.
It's an opportunity to do senior, substantive work without the constraints of a large agency.
We work on outcomes, not activity. No call targets, no arbitrary KPIs.
We're looking for around 20–25 hours a week and are genuinely flexible about how those hours are structured. You'll work predominantly from home, manage your own day and come into London roughly once a month for a team catch-up.
If you're an experienced recruiter who wants varied, senior work with real flexibility and the chance to help shape a growing business, we'd like to hear from you.
Charles Alan is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds. We're happy to discuss flexible working from day one.
