Senior Recruitment Consultant

Engineering USA
Manchester - Hybrid 2 Days WFH

Who Are We

Strativ Group specialises in technology, clean energy, future mobility and industrial recruitment. Established in 2018 with the goal of building a forward-thinking business that does things differently, we make it our mission to empower people and shape futures.

Our Energy & Electrification team is growing, and we're looking for our 4th hire to join a desk covering some of the most exciting areas across the US energy and infrastructure market.

We're working with businesses building the hardware that powers buildings, data centres and the grid, from batteries and power electronics through to controls, mechanical and embedded engineering.

The majority of our clients are US-based and heavily focused around AI infrastructure, with the Bay Area, Austin and Raleigh being some of our busiest markets.

So, if you're looking for the opportunity to take ownership of a market rather than inherit a traditional recruitment desk, how does this sound...

  • Hot desk with roles to walk into from day 1
  • Average fees of £20k-£30k+
  • Retained, exclusive & RPO work - we've been turning away contingent work due to the demand
  • A desk that's already generating serious revenue, with the team of 3 tracking close to £1M.

We're working predominantly with Series A onwards businesses, alongside public companies, and demand from robotics as the market continues to expand.

This hire is being made because there's a huge amount of market still left to cover, particularly within data centre power, grid storage, controls, mechanical and robotics.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role

What you'll be doing:

  • Working across the US Energy & Electrification market, with live opportunities to get stuck into from day one.
  • Building your reputation as a specialist across areas including data centre power, grid storage, batteries, power electronics, controls, mechanical and embedded engineering.
  • Developing relationships with candidates and clients, with your BD naturally growing out of the relationships you're building rather than relying solely on traditional cold calling.
  • Taking ownership of your own section of the market and becoming the person clients and candidates know to go to.
  • Working alongside an experienced team who share calls, contacts and market knowledge rather than keeping everything to themselves.

The market is moving quickly. Electrification and the infrastructure needed to support AI aren't going away, and we're already seeing the demand play out through repeat work with clients.

The Requirements

We're looking for someone with around 2-5 years' recruitment experience, ideally within engineering, hardware or a hardware-adjacent market.

Your geography doesn't matter. If you've recruited in the UK or Europe and you're ready to move into the US market, we'd still be interested in speaking.

More important than the number of years you've been recruiting is how you recruit.

You'll ideally be someone who can tell us about a relationship you've built with a candidate that went beyond one placement and ultimately led to a referral, introduction or client opportunity.

You'll need to be comfortable owning relationships and developing BD from the candidate side.

We're looking for character over years of experience. You don't need to walk in as an expert in power electronics or grid storage, but you do need to be comfortable learning something technical and becoming genuinely knowledgeable in your market.

The Rewards

This is a desk where you're walking into an established market rather than being asked to build something from scratch.

The team has already seen what is possible:

  • Average fees sit around £20k-£30k+, with potential to go considerably higher
  • £450k-£500k billing years
  • A team of 3 coming close to hitting £1M
  • The team hasn't placed done a one off placement with a client in the last year. Our relationships consistently turn into multiple hires

This is a genuine opportunity to bill £300k in the following 12 months.

You'll have the opportunity to own a section of the market, build your own accounts from the relationships and clients already within the business, and ultimately become the person known for that space.

You'll also have opportunities to travel to the US and meet the clients you're building relationships with.

If all of that hasn’t made you jump to apply, here are some of our other Strativ Group perks:

  • No working hours
  • Unlimited holidays
  • No dress code
  • Private healthcare (Vitality)
  • Enhanced parental leave – Up to 9 months maternity/paternity (yes that’s right)
  • Dedicated support from our TA, L&D, HR, IT, Marketing, Contracts & Compliance, Finance team… Our Mission Control team are here ready!
  • International travel opportunities
  • And much more!
