The Opportunity – Business Services, US Legal Recruitment

Senior Consultant / Principal / Associate Director opportunity

Basic Salary - 50-75k depending on experience and level

Location - London - City

Work Arrangement - Hybrid

My client is looking for an experienced recruiter to establish and grow a dedicated Business Services practice, focusing on non-fee-earning positions within leading US law firms, particularly the Am Law 100.

This appointment forms part of a wider strategic initiative to broaden the firm’s service offering to its existing law firm clients. Having established an exceptionally successful US legal recruitment business, they are now investing in complementary specialist practices to provide a more comprehensive recruitment solution to its clients.

The business already has someone joining to establish and develop its Finance recruitment offering into US law firms, and the launch of a dedicated Business Services practice represents another important step in this expansion.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

With approximately 20 consultants already focused on the US legal market, operating across London and New York, they have longstanding relationships with many of the firms you would be targeting.

Rather than building a desk entirely from scratch, you will be able to leverage these established relationships, working alongside successful colleagues who are already deeply embedded within the US legal market.

There is also scope to hire a researcher or junior consultant almost immediately, allowing you to concentrate on business development, client relationships, and growing the practice.
