Job: Senior Reinsurance Technician

Salary: Up to £90,000
Location: London / Hybrid

A growing Lloyd’s Managing Agent is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Reinsurance Technician to join their expanding and dynamic reinsurance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior reinsurance professional to take on a key technical role within the outwards reinsurance function, working closely with the Head of Ceded Reinsurance and playing a central role in the development and delivery of the team.

The Role:

Working closely with the Head of Ceded Reinsurance, you will provide senior technical expertise across the outwards reinsurance function, taking ownership of key processes, supporting the month-end close and acting as a subject matter expert across technical and systems-related queries.

  • Taking ownership of the outwards reinsurance month-end close from start to finish.
  • Providing senior technical support across the outwards/ceded reinsurance function.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for technical, process and XL Pro queries.
  • Working across Facultative, Treaty and XOL reinsurance processes.
  • Supporting the Head of Ceded Reinsurance with the ongoing development of the function.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the development and enhancement of systems, procedures and processes.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and the overall operating model.
  • Providing technical guidance and support on complex reinsurance queries and processes.
  • Playing a key role in developing a best-in-class outwards reinsurance function.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced reinsurance technician or senior reinsurance professional with a strong technical understanding of outwards/ ceded reinsurance.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong experience within an outwards/ceded reinsurance environment.
  • Excellent understanding of Facultative, Treaty and XOL processes.
  • Strong technical knowledge across the full reinsurance lifecycle.
  • Experience with XL Pro would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience managing or contributing to month-end processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement, systems and procedures.
  • The ability to act as a technical SME and work confidently with senior stakeholders.
