About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Relationship Manager to join our Commercial Lending team. This role is responsible for a portfolio of clients to retain and originate new commercial lending deals for both existing and new clients.

The award-winning Commercial team is a growing part of the wider Building Society, lending to property investors, property developers and Housing Associations, (the role holder will not have exposure to Housing Associations in their portfolio) We are ambitious, professional and put the customer relationship at the heart of what we do with quick decisions and a flexible approach. We achieve through the team, where the role holder will be supported by an excellent back-office function.


Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of clients through a Relationship model to retain and execute new commercial lending deals for both existing and new clients within the standards the Society sets in terms of credit policy and returns.
  • Networking: Build strong professional relationships within the commercial real estate and business community to develop the Society’s brand to maximum effect.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: You will have a role in developing the skills and capabilities of colleagues within the team

What We’re Looking For

  • Substantial experience in a commercial property lending environment including investment and development funding structures with a detailed understanding of areas such as security, risk management, legal and regulatory environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong sales and negotiating skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in coaching and mentoring
  • Driving licence – a company car will be provided as part of the package
