Join us as the Senior Remediation Legal Compliance Manager and play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring Peabody's fire remediation programme remains legally compliant, well-governed and aligned with evolving building safety legislation.
About The Role
As Senior Fire Remediation Legal Compliance Manager, you'll lead Peabody's Fire Remediation Legal Compliance function, setting the standards, governance framework and assurance processes that underpin our fire remediation programme.
You'll be responsible for ensuring the programme operates within its legal obligations arising from contracts, legislation, leases, grant funding agreements and third-party arrangements. You'll also lead delivery of the Cladding Safety Scheme grant funding requirements, working closely with Homes England, internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance, transparency and successful programme delivery.
What You'll Do
- Lead, develop and inspire a team of eight through two direct-report managers, setting priorities and building capability across the legal compliance function.
- Own the delivery of the Cladding Safety Scheme grant funding requirements, including applications, reporting, administration and assurance activity.
- Act as the senior point of contact for Homes England regarding grant funding compliance, reporting and escalations.
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations arising from contracts, legislation, leases, grant funding agreements and third-party arrangements.
- Provide leadership on compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021 and related building safety regulations.
- Oversee monitoring and reporting of litigation affecting the fire remediation programme and support contractual negotiations where required.
- Lead oversight of complex Land Registry title structures, lease reviews and leaseholder protection obligations.
- Deliver executive, board and regulatory reporting, ensuring accurate and timely compliance information.
- Oversee programme data management, including asset, liability and property records.
- Act as the senior escalation point for compliance risks, identifying solutions and driving continuous improvement across governance processes.

What You'll Need
- Significant leadership experience within a legal, compliance or governance environment, including managing managers.
- An LLB Law Degree or relevant legal qualification.
- Detailed knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021 and associated guidance and regulations.
- Experience managing government grant funding programmes, ideally the Cladding Safety Scheme or Building Safety Fund.
- Expert knowledge of Land Registry titles, complex leases and leaseholder protections.
- Strong experience managing complex programmes, including planning, reporting and data management.
- Experience working within a regulated environment subject to external scrutiny.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executives, regulators, funders and external partners.
- Strong judgement, leadership and decision-making skills when managing risk, compliance and governance matters.
