About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Rent and Service Charge Officer to join our Northampton team and play a key role in ensuring rents and service charges are managed accurately, transparently and in line with regulatory requirements.
This role is based at our Northampton office 3 days per week with 2 days remotely if required.
Key Duties
- Lead the preparation and review of service charge budgets, reconciliations and annual rent reviews, ensuring full compliance with legislative, regulatory and lease requirements.
- Oversee the accuracy of service charge estimates and actual costs across multiple tenures, maintaining robust controls, audit trails and quality assurance standards.
- Manage relationships with managing agents and management companies, challenging costs and service delivery to ensure value for money and compliance.
- Provide technical expertise and advice across the business on rent setting, service charges, lease structures and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement by enhancing processes, systems and controls while delivering clear reporting and meaningful insight to stakeholders.

About You
- Proven experience in service charge management, rent setting, housing finance or a similar technical housing role.
- Strong knowledge of service charge legislation, lease interpretation, the Rent Standard, Shared Ownership and Consumer Standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to reconcile complex financial and operational data accurately.
- Confident stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge constructively and build strong relationships internally and externally.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and support colleagues through technical guidance and quality assurance.
