Company Description

PIP Lift Service Limited is a specialist lift services provider offering preventative maintenance, 24-hour breakdown cover, and day-to-day repairs for a wide range of lift systems. The company delivers new installations of goods and passenger lifts, as well as full or partial modernisation for all makes and types of lift. Services include aesthetic improvements to enhance the appearance and usability of lift equipment. PIP Lift Service Limited also provides DDA-compliant solutions, supporting accessibility and safe use for all building occupants.

Role Description

The Senior Repair Engineer - Lifts is a full-time, on-site role based in Romford. This role involves diagnosing faults, performing complex repairs on passenger and goods lifts. The Senior Repair Engineer should be able to carry out the following works:

  • Control panel changes (Usual third party spec i.e. Lester Controls, Arkel, Shorts, New Lift etc)
  • Door operator changes (Usual third party spec i.e. GAL, Fermator, Wittur etc)
  • Autodialler installations (Safeline, Windcrest etc.)
  • Renewal of main suspension ropes
  • Safety Gear related issues including renewal
  • Sheave renewals
  • Carry out safety checks
  • Ensure lifts meet relevant standards and regulations

Daily tasks include coordinating repair work, documenting service activities, advising customers on repair issues. The role requires close collaboration with the service team to plan repair schedules and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 Qualification is essential
  • Van and phone provided
  • Strong skills in Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues with lifts and associated systems
  • Experience in Field repair operations, including on-site service and customer interactions
  • Proficiency in Maintenance & Repair to ensure the reliable performance of goods and passenger lifts
  • Effective verbal and written Communication skills to liaise with team members and customers
  • Hands-on experience providing Technical Support for lift installations, repairs, and modernizations
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to lift operations
  • Must be UK based
