About the Role & Team
The Senior Research Analyst will support IDC's EMEA Partnering Ecosystems practice, helping technology vendors, distributors, cloud providers, systems integrators, and ecosystem participants understand how partner business models, ecosystem strategies, channel programs, and go-to-market approaches are evolving across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The role will contribute to IDC research covering partner ecosystems, strategic alliances, marketplaces, distribution, channel strategy, and emerging AI-driven ecosystem trends. Working closely with IDC's worldwide Partnering Ecosystems, Alliances & Channels team, the analyst will support primary research, develop written research content, contribute to custom consulting projects, and assist in delivering actionable insights to clients.

The role offers an opportunity to work closely with senior analysts and industry leaders while contributing to research and thought leadership on the evolution of technology ecosystems, partner-led growth, AI, marketplaces, alliances, route-to-market innovation, and changing partner business models.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct primary and secondary research on partner ecosystems, alliances, marketplaces, and channel-related topics.
- Support survey design, data analysis, executive interviews, and research projects.
- Develop written research content including market notes, presentations, reports, blogs, and client deliverables.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
