About The Role
Based in the Centre for Media, Arts & Creative Technologies (MACT), your priority will be to work alongside the Director (Professor Tanya Horeck) to provide research leadership and to work collaboratively on research projects. Producing high-quality research, and leading bids to secure external funding will be key parts of the role.

We are looking for an academic at the Senior Lecturer level, with subject-expertise in one or more of the following areas: social media platforms; the attention economy; affect; ethics and technology; sexual and gender-based violence; the social implications and consequences of AI; gender and digital media; online misogynies; technology-facilitated violence, including AI-facilitated harms. You will have a PhD and a strong research record in Media Studies, Digital/Communication Studies, Cultural Studies, and/or Gender Studies. Preferred candidates will have strong experience of preparing research bids and have an excellent track record of world-leading publications. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue external bidding opportunities proactively, both independently and through collaboration with MACT members. Those selected for interview will be asked to develop a presentation outlining their research and bidding plans.
