Exciting Opportunity for a Part-Time Secondment as Senior Research Nurse

This is a very exciting opportunity for a part-time secondment as Senior Research Nurse in the Commercial Delivery Research Centre NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group (UHLG). UHLG has been named as host to one of 20 research hubs across the UK. This programme is part of a £100 million investment award, bringing cutting-edge research to communities in Liverpool City Region.

As part of the NHS 10-year health plan, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has announced plans to establish 20 Commercial Research Delivery Centres (CRDCs), giving patients access to pioneering clinical trials and treatments in record time.

The Liverpool CRDC, funded by a government private investment initiative, will support the rapid set-up of commercial studies, meaning patients can begin accessing treatments and undergoing trials as early as possible. Alongside UHLG, the centre will bring together Cheshire and Mersey organisations including primary and social care; voluntary organisations and 10 secondary care organisations from the region.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate substantial experience in a research environment and an understanding of the requirements for delivering clinical research studies.
  • Previous research experience is essential for this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
