Senior Researcher - Leading National Law Firm
Hybrid working - office location Birmingham, Manchester or Sheffield
We are looking for a Senior Researcher to join a high-performing team within a leading national law firm. This role is responsible for delivering strategic, market, and competitor research to support decision-making across key corporate clients.
The position will involve conducting in-depth secondary and desk research, tracking industry trends, and providing insights on market positioning and competitive landscapes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead secondary research and business intelligence for priority business units, delivering in-depth market, competitor, and strategic analysis.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing research to support business strategy, including client targeting, industry benchmarking, and market trends.
- Monitor competitor activity, identifying potential opportunities and risks to inform business development and growth initiatives.
- Synthesise key insights from various research sources to create compelling, data-driven reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Maintain an ongoing horizon-scanning process to track legal, regulatory, and industry developments.
- Ensure research outputs are presented effectively using advanced Microsoft Office tools and visualisation techniques.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimise research processes and enhance knowledge-sharing across the business.
- Support the development of research methodologies and best practices, mentoring junior researchers as needed.

- Proven experience in market, competitor, and strategic research within a professional services environment.
- 5+ years experience within analysing secondary research
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
- Experience conducting business intelligence, client targeting, and industry benchmarking research.
- Excellent ability to interpret data and present clear, actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Proven experience leading and managing junior team members
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, insight-driven environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in executive-level reporting.
