Senior Residential Care Worker – Children’s Residential Care (LD Home)

📍 Chester
💷 Competitive Salary £14.75 per hour + Sleep-In Payments + Career Progression

Priority Futures is looking for compassionate, motivated, and experienced Senior Residential Care Workers to join our brand-new, high-specification 4-bed children’s residential home in Chester, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a service from the very beginning — helping to create a warm, nurturing, and aspirational home environment where children can truly thrive.

Our home is led by a highly experienced Registered Manager and supported by an experienced Director of Care/Responsible Individual with extensive operational and Ofsted leadership experience.

About the Role

As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will play a key role in providing day-to-day care, support, guidance, and structure to children and young people within the home.

Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting children and young people with daily routines and activities
  • Promoting positive relationships and emotional well-being
  • Supporting education, independence, and life skills development
  • Completing records, reports, and documentation to a high standard
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times
  • Supporting behavior positively and therapeutically
  • Leading shifts when required and supporting junior staff members

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working within children’s residential care
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Demonstrates resilience, warmth, and professionalism
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Understands safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
  • Wants to develop and progress within residential childcare

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience within children’s residential services preferred
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins
