The organization focuses on supporting children to achieve positive emotional, behavioral, and educational outcomes. Prospective team members will join a service that is trusted for the progress and attainment of the children in its care.
Role Description
The Senior Residential Child Care Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in Sway, providing day-to-day care and support for children and young people in a residential setting. Responsibilities include:
- Building safe, trusting relationships
- Supporting children’s daily routines
- Promoting their emotional and behavioral development
- Planning and participating in activities
- Overseeing educational support
- Maintaining accurate records and care plans
- Contributing to reviews and meetings with external professionals

The Senior Worker will also:
- Help guide and support junior staff
- Participate in ongoing training
- Follow safeguarding and regulatory standards
- Contribute to a positive, child-centered environment
Qualifications
- Strong childcare and working with children skills, including experience in residential or similar care settings.
- Experience in social services and multi-agency working to support the welfare and protection of children and young people.
- Ability to plan and deliver activities and events that promote children’s social, emotional, and educational development.
- Experience in training or mentoring colleagues to support consistent, high-quality care practice.
- Relevant qualification in childcare, social care, or a related field (e.g., Level 3 or above in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent).
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to follow policies and procedures diligently.
- Strong communication, record-keeping, and teamwork skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site in Sway, including flexible hours that may involve evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
