Oculus Legal Group Job Opportunity
Oculus Legal Group has been instructed to hire a Senior level Residential Conveyancer to join a Bristol-based firm which is highly regarded as having one of the finest Residential teams in the region.
The role is pitched at the upper end of the team structure - a role that rarely goes out to the open market for applications. A super opportunity for a licensed conveyancer to thrive in a collaborative and 'down to earth' culture.
The Opportunity:
- Say 'goodbye' to time recording, micro-management, and targets - as a senior level Residential Conveyancer it will be understood that none of these tools will be appealing - these elements therefore do not exist with this role.
- The role will report into a vastly experienced Partner who has been with the firm for over 20 years. The Partner is incredibly knowledgeable, truly a lovely person who is a readily available escalation point when required.
- The capabilities of our client's Residential Conveyancing team is very broad with strong cross-office collaboration. Upon joining the team - the opportunity will present itself for exposure to be secured across Freehold & leasehold, sales & purchases, Shared ownership, Auction sales & purchases, Mortgages and equity release, The granting of new leases, Transfers of equity, Landlord & tenant matters, Lease extensions, Right to Buy, Help to Buy, and Boundary disputes. Hopefully the opportunity to still learn, despite being a senior member of the team.
- Working as part of a collaborative team, you will benefit from varied and interesting residential work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
