Job Description
Senior Residential Support Worker (Residential Children's Homes)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Circa £37,000 (includes sleep-in allowance of £70.47 per sleep-in, with an average of 11 per month)
Excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of our children's residential homes. We are a rapidly expanding organization offering a competitive salary plus benefits, including a quality bespoke training package and generous remuneration for sleep-in shifts. We specialize in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early life trauma, neglect, or abuse and may display challenging behaviors.
The Main Duties Of This Role Include
- Ensuring shifts are planned with Residential Support Workers
- Ensuring that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
- Communicating effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
- Providing reports and documentation that reflects the progress of the young person using our paperless systems and tools
- Reviewing the young people's care plans and other associated documentation
- Undertaking an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
- Attending staff meetings and being proactive in developing and improving the service model
- Acting as an advocate for the young person while using a positive parenting model
- Working with young people using positive support strategies, including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training (PRICE)

Job Requirements
- Providing positive parenting
- Having exceptional communication skills
- Having sound working knowledge of current legislation, e.g., Children's Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
- Being open-minded and empathetic in a calm and professional manner

Essential Requirements
- Must have a full manual driving license
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or working towards
- Participating in further continuing professional development to support the needs of our young people
- Having a clear passion and desire to support children and young people
- Being an active member of a progressive and committed team
