Role:

We’re looking for a driven revenue accounting professional to join our Revenue Accounting team within a global technology business. The Senior Revenue Accountant will help ensure revenue transactions are recorded accurately, reconciled effectively, and reported in line with Bottomline’s policies. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams to support timely month-end and quarter-end close processes, maintain strong controls, and contribute to process improvements across the revenue cycle.

How you'll contribute:

  • Understanding and applying the core revenue accounting principles to determine the correct revenue treatment, in accordance with Bottomline’s policies
  • Ownership of assigned product lines, including accurate recording, reconciliation, review, and reporting of revenue and related balance sheet transactions.
  • Partnering with Billing, Collections, Sales Operations, and FP&A to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
  • Key participation in monthly and quarterly close activities, including ownership of standard journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and audit support schedules.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, responding to queries, and providing clear supporting documentation for revenue accounting judgements and balances.
  • Identify and support process improvement initiatives across revenue accounting, including opportunities to improve close efficiency, reconciliation quality, reporting accuracy, and control effectiveness.

Education, Skill & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting
  • CPA or other similar accounting qualifications
  • Confident in using business systems and processes (Excel, CRM, ERP, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Strong attention to detail and able to consistently and timely produce quality, accurate work
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge and experience in ASC606 revenue recognition, preparing account reconciliations, internal controls

Preferred (not essential):

  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting department working within the SaaS / technology sector.
  • Experience with systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Zuora Revenue, or similar accounting, CRM, billing, or revenue management platforms.
  • Involvement in critical projects or process improvement.
  • Experience with AI tools or a genuine interest in learning and applying AI technologies.
