My client, a leading Corporate and Commercial law firm with offices across the globe, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Reward & Benefits Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished reward professional to join a high-performing HR function and play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the firm's reward and benefits strategy across multiple international jurisdictions. Working as a member of the HR leadership team and reporting directly to the HR Director, you will provide strategic insight, expert guidance, and hands-on leadership across all aspects of compensation, benefits, and reward governance.
The successful candidate will lead a small specialist team and partner closely with senior stakeholders across both business services and fee-earning populations to ensure the firm's reward offering remains competitive, commercially focused, and aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the firm's reward and benefits strategy across international locations.
- Provide market intelligence, benchmarking data, and reward insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Drive a strong pay-for-performance culture through the design and delivery of salary structures, bonus schemes, and incentive programs.
- Manage the annual salary and bonus review processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance throughout.
- Advise HR and Talent Acquisition teams on remuneration for new hires, promotions, and internal moves.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to develop and embed reward initiatives that support attraction, retention, and engagement objectives.
- Oversee job evaluation, grading, and salary benchmarking activities.
- Manage relationships with external reward and benefits providers, consultants, and brokers.
- Lead the ongoing review and enhancement of employee benefits programs both in the UK and internationally.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and reporting requirements, including Gender Pay Gap reporting and emerging pay transparency regulations.
- Provide governance and oversight of pension arrangements and international retirement benefit programs.
- Manage the Reward & Benefits team, providing leadership, coaching, and development.
- Contribute to broader HR and business projects where reward expertise is required.
- Support annual HR budgeting and workforce planning activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
