About The Role
The Senior Reward Manager is a permanent, full-time role and a senior member of the Reward team.
The position holds primary accountability for Benefits and Wellbeing across Value Retail Europe (7 countries, 9 villages), ensuring our programmes are competitive, compliant and aligned with our people experience philosophy.
Initially, the focus will be on the strategic leadership, governance and delivery of benefits and wellbeing programmes, while progressively contributing to compensation activities such as job evaluation, benchmarking, pay structures and annual review processes.
Over time, and subject to business need and demonstrated capability, the role may expand to hold broader accountability across both benefits and compensation.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced reward professional who combines deep benefits expertise, a strong employee-centric mindset, and the desire to evolve into a wider reward leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits & Wellbeing
- Own end-to-end strategy and delivery of benefits across Value Retail Europe, ensuring programmes are competitive, compliant and cost-effective
- Lead and evolve the Feel Good wellbeing strategy across diverse geographies
- Act as the benefits centre of excellence, advising People Operations and HR colleagues at a senior level
- Ensure all policies, contracts and communications are consistent and aligned to company objectives
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Lead relationships with benefit advisors, brokers, vendors and platforms (including Ben), ensuring strong governance and value for money
- Partner with Finance, Legal and People Operations to keep reward programmes compliant and well-controlled
- Build trust and influence with senior stakeholders across all villages and functions

Insight, Analysis & Reward Projects
- Deliver high-quality reward insight, analysis and reporting to inform decisions on cost, competitiveness and equity
- Lead or contribute to reward projects, including transformation initiatives, system enhancements and regulatory changes
- Champion continuous improvement and better use of data across reward processes
Broader Reward Strategy
- Partner with the Head of Reward to shape and deliver an integrated reward strategy across benefits, wellbeing and compensation
- Act as a senior reward advisor to business leaders
- Contribute to the long-term development of the Reward team, including operating model and capability building
Compensation
- Bring credible compensation expertise to support broader reward initiatives
- Progressively take ownership of defined compensation programmes and processes as part of a structured development plan
- Support the Head of Reward on complex compensation matters, with scope expanding over time based on business need and capability
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Maintain robust governance across benefits and compensation, including policy frameworks, controls and audit readiness
- Monitor legislative and market developments across Europe, assessing impact and recommending proactive responses
- Oversee data integrity across People, payroll, benefits and compensation processes

About You
We are looking for an individual who can display the following experience and skills:
- 7–10+ years in Reward, with solid exposure to both benefits and compensation
- Deep expertise in benefits management across multiple European countries, with hands-on compensation design or delivery experience
- Proven ability to operate at Senior Manager level, influencing senior stakeholders and working autonomously in complex environments
- Experience across core compensation topics including job evaluation, pay structures, benchmarking and annual review cycles
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing external partners such as brokers, vendors and survey providers
- Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel capability and confidence working with complex reward data
- A clear, confident communicator who can translate complex reward concepts into pragmatic guidance
- Trusted and discreet, with sound judgement on sensitive reward matters
- Curious and forward-thinking, with a drive to expand scope and impact over time
- A strong employee-centric mindset, aligned to Value Retail's belief that experience is everything
- Familiarity with SuccessFactors and benefits platforms including Ben is an advantage but not essential
