We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join the team as a Senior Risk Data and Reporting Manager.

You’ll improve the delivery of risk oversight across HSBC UK. Accelerating the delivery of reviews into how the business is managing risks and controls. You’ll also support targeted enhancements to how the UK Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team runs, with the ability to translate complex decisions into clear, human and engaging messaging.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead external Risk Disclosures (including Annual/Interim Reports and Accounts, Pillar3, Risk Factors, ICAAP), managing end-to-end production through to final submission, coordinating inputs and ensuring clear, well-governed and deadline-driven delivery
  • Own and manage HSBC UK’s Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) across all risk types, including annual refresh, out-of-cycle updates, oversight assessments, and Board governance papers, proactively driving alignment across stakeholders
  • Provide RAS guidance, training and assurance across HSBC UK, building strong relationships and influencing at all levels
  • Coordinate the HSBC UK Risk Map reporting cycle, providing guidance and training to Risk Stewards to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs delivered on time
  • Oversee BCBS239 reporting and maintain the HSBC UK Report and Metrics Inventory to support strong risk data governance, proactively resolving issues and dependencies
  • Lead HSBC UK forward-looking risk activity, aligned with Group strategic direction, engaging senior stakeholders to shape and land outcomes
  • Strengthen risk oversight delivery by scoping and supporting assurance reviews, analysing risk/control data, and drafting clear findings and reports that are fit for senior governance
  • Drive continuous improvement of ERM through process optimisation, tooling and ways-of-working enhancements, while role-modelling HSBC values, a speak-up culture, and collaborative delivery to SLAs

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Highly proactive approach with a strong ownership mindset, anticipating needs, unblocking issues quickly, and driving delivery at pace
  • Strong stakeholder management, engagement, and coordination skills across all levels of the organisation, including senior leadership and governance forums
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and articulate forward-looking enterprise risks impacting HSBC UK’s business objectives, including risk appetite and risk map considerations
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability, collating data from multiple sources and interpreting trends in risks and controls
  • Evidence of using data and metrics to form well-reasoned judgements and support recommendations for senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Ability to critically review documentation (e.g., frameworks, policies, assurance evidence) to identify themes, gaps, and control weaknesses
  • Structured problem-solving skills, identifying improvement opportunities, prioritising options, and driving practical solutions across ERM processes and tooling
  • Experience coordinating high-quality, quality-controlled outputs (e.g., disclosures, reports, governance papers) to tight deadlines, with clear, concise Board/committee-ready writing and strong Excel/PowerPoint capability
