Senior Risk Lawyer (3-4+ PQE)
London | Hybrid Working
A great opportunity has arisen for a Risk Lawyer to step up into a Senior position and join a well-established Legal & Regulatory Risk function of a leading international law firm. This role offers exposure to a broad range of legal, regulatory, compliance and commercial risk matters, providing the opportunity to work closely with partners, senior stakeholders and business services teams across a global business. It is an ideal opportunity for a lawyer looking to move into a strategic in-house risk role or further develop an existing risk and compliance career within a sophisticated law firm environment.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Legal & Regulatory Risk, responsibilities will include:
- Advising on a broad range of legal, regulatory and professional conduct issues.
- Drafting, reviewing and updating risk management policies, procedures and guidance.
- Managing and responding to day-to-day risk and compliance queries from across the business.
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial and supplier agreements, including technology vendor contracts.
- Supporting data protection compliance matters, including subject access requests and data breaches.
- Reviewing client terms, outside counsel guidelines and amendments to standard terms of business.
- Advising fee earners and business services teams on risk-related matters.
- Delivering risk and compliance training across the firm.
- Supporting firmwide and cross-functional risk projects.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and providing practical guidance to stakeholders.
- Assisting with complex conflicts and sanctions-related matters where required.

About You
We are keen to speak with qualified solicitors who have:
- 3+ years' PQE.
- Experience gained within a law firm's Risk, Compliance, General Counsel or Professional Standards function, or relevant private practice experience.
- Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks affecting law firms, including SRA regulations and data protection.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to balance commercial objectives with effective risk management.
- Strong organisational skills and the confidence to manage competing priorities.
