Senior Risk Lawyer
We are partnering with an international law firm to recruit their new Senior Risk Lawyer to join their Legal & Regulatory Risk function. This is an excellent opportunity for a Risk Lawyer step up into a senior level and play a key role in advising on a broad range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters across a global business. The position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, firm-wide projects, and strategic risk initiatives.
The Role
Working closely with the Head of Legal & Regulatory Risk, you will provide practical and commercially focused advice on a wide variety of risk and compliance issues affecting an international law firm.
Responsibilities
- Advising on legal and regulatory risk matters across the business.
- Developing and maintaining risk management policies, procedures and guidance.
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial and supplier contracts, including technology-related agreements.
- Supporting data protection compliance activities, including GDPR-related matters.
- Advising on client terms of business and outside counsel guidelines.
- Providing guidance on professional conduct and regulatory obligations.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and communicating key updates to stakeholders.
- Delivering risk and compliance training to lawyers and business services teams.
- Acting as an escalation point for complex conflicts of interest and sanctions-related matters.
- Supporting strategic and cross-functional risk projects.

About You

- Qualified solicitor with at least 4 years' PQE.
- Experience gained within the risk, compliance, general counsel or regulatory function of a leading international law firm.
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Good understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to law firms, including professional conduct, data protection and compliance obligations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior team members is advantageous.
