RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd.
Position: Risk Management Specialist
Location: Offshore
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: To start as soon as possible
About the Role
In this role, you’ll implement and continuously improve end-to-end risk management processes across RWE Offshore Operations. You’ll apply your expertise to operational, technical, commercial, regulatory and other risks that could significantly affect short- and long-term business plans, while coaching other team members and providing guidance across the business.
This is a great opportunity to transfer risk management experience from offshore wind, power generation, oil and gas, chemicals, aviation or a comparable asset-intensive industry into the offshore wind sector. HSE-specific risks and processes, including Case to Operate, remain under the responsibility of the HSE department and are outside the scope of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Operations teams to identify, consistently quantify and proactively treat risks through regular reviews and ad hoc support for emerging risks.
- Coordinate input from subject matter experts across relevant technical, commercial and corporate functions.
- Develop and implement best practices for risk identification, quantification, treatment, stress testing and lessons learned.
- Maintain accurate, clear and consistent data in the risk management tool to enable effective comparison and analysis.
- Analyse risk data to identify trends, portfolio-wide risks and priorities for allocating resources.
- Prepare clear risk reports and coordinate approval with site General Managers and Operational Directors for financial forecasting, planning and other business reporting.
- Monitor critical risks and treatment measures against agreed milestones while holding risk owners accountable for delivery.
- Provide peer reviews, coaching and professional support to Risk Management Specialists and guidance to the wider business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
