The Opportunity
We are currently hiring for a Senior Risk Manager with experience in Chemical Engineering to join our Customer Proposition team.
The role will provide primary support for Portfolio Managers and Senior Underwriters in the management of Major Clients accounts and in the provision of RM services to ensure business retention and acquisition is successfully delivered.
The role will support our Underwriters and clients within chemical engineering, high hazard, and property.

Your new role
- Manage and develop a portfolio of major and multinational clients, supporting long-term risk improvement and client retention.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key client accounts, coordinating risk management activities and programmes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and delivery of client risk management activities, including site visits and programme reviews.
- Provide technical risk management expertise and recommendations to support client outcomes.
- Oversee the delivery of cross-class risk solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and report on risk management activity, performance, costs, and benefits using relevant systems and data.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the London Market and regional offices to support portfolio and major client objectives.
- Contribute to product development, industry sector solutions, and the enhancement of risk management tools and platforms.
- Represent QBE at client meetings, industry events, and professional forums, promoting QBE's expertise and market presence.

About You
- Chemical Engineering background and experience within risk management in an insurance-related role.
- Process safety and risk engineering knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial understanding of risk, insurance, and underwriting.
- Stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Project management and organizational capability.
