Experienced Senior Risk Professional

TPT Retirement Solutions is looking for an experienced senior risk professional to lead the development and implementation of our Group-wide risk management standards. This is a key leadership role, providing strategic risk advice, oversight and assurance across TPT, our propositions and our Trustee clients.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own and evolve TPT’s Risk Management Playbook, policies and supporting materials, ensuring risk management practices are clearly defined, understood and embedded.
  • Lead our Risk Advisory and Risk Assurance services, providing independent challenge, oversight and assurance to strengthen controls and support effective risk management.
  • Act as a senior risk adviser to the Board, Executive Team, Committees and Trustee clients, providing clear advice and constructive challenge on significant and emerging risk matters.
  • Provide risk oversight for strategic initiatives, business change and new propositions, ensuring risks are identified, assessed and managed in line with risk appetite.
  • Define and oversee risk reporting and Key Risk Indicator frameworks, providing timely and forward-looking insight into current and emerging risks.
  • Champion risk capability across TPT by developing education and awareness programmes that strengthen understanding, accountability and effective risk management at all levels.
  • Help embed a positive, risk-intelligent culture that supports informed decision-making and confident risk-taking.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Extensive senior-level risk management experience, ideally gained within an occupational pension scheme, institutional investment or complex financial services environment.

  • Confidence advising senior stakeholders and able to provide constructive challenges in a way that supports positive outcomes.

  • Extensive knowledge of risk management practices in pensions or investment management.

  • Knowledge and understanding of how regulatory, political, reputational, investment and legal risks can affect a complex business.

  • Experience implementing, operating or embedding Governance, Risk and Compliance tools.

  • Experience of risk advisory and risk assurance techniques, including risk identification, trend analysis, mitigation and control oversight.

  • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, including TPR, FCA rules, Codes and other relevant legislation.

  • The ability to guide and facilitate the risk management lifecycle, adapting your approach to the maturity of different business areas.

  • Confidence delivering presentations, facilitating interactive meetings or workshops with a range of audiences and communicating complex risk matters.

  • Strong judgement, decisiveness and the ability to solve complex problems where established procedures may not exist.

  • A commitment to producing high-quality work that can withstand appropriate scrutiny and challenge.

  • Educated to degree level, or with equivalent relevant experience. Risk-related qualifications such as CIRM, MBCI or similar would be helpful.
