Overview
Our client, an international insurer, is seeking a Senior Risk Manager with a Chemical Engineering background and experience in risk management within insurance, alongside process safety and risk engineering expertise.
This remote role focuses on chemical and other high-hazard environments. You will work with major and multinational clients, providing technical risk management expertise to support underwriting decisions, risk analysis, loss reduction and long-term risk improvement.
The role offers significant client exposure, responsibility for major accounts and the opportunity to contribute to the development of risk solutions, tools and sector-focused services.

Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of major and multinational clients, supporting risk improvement and client retention.
- Act as the primary contact for key accounts and coordinate risk management activities and programmes.
- Plan, schedule and deliver risk management activity, including site visits and programme reviews.
- Provide technical risk management advice and recommendations for chemical and high-hazard risks.
- Build relationships with clients, brokers, underwriters and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee cross-class risk solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and report on risk management activity, performance, costs and benefits.
- Contribute to product development, industry sector solutions and improvements to risk management tools and platforms.

Requirements
- Chemical Engineering background and risk management experience within an insurance-related role.
- Process safety and risk engineering knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial understanding of risk, insurance and underwriting.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Project management and organisational capability.
