Senior Risk Settlement Consultant
Salary - £110,000 plus bonus
Location - London/ Hybrid
We are seeking a Senior Risk Settlement Consultant to join a leading pensions organisation’s growing Risk Settlement team.
This is a senior opportunity within a specialist team focused on the UK pension risk transfer market. The successful individual will take a lead or senior support role across a range of settlement transactions, working closely with trustees, sponsors, advisers, insurers, and other key stakeholders.
The role will also provide the opportunity to contribute to new business, proposition development, market initiatives, and the continued growth of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior support or lead transaction adviser across a range of pension risk settlement transactions, including buy-ins, buy-outs, wind-ups, longevity swaps, and other capital or consolidation solutions.
- Take responsibility for the successful running and delivery of transactions, ensuring they are completed effectively, on time, and within agreed budgets.
- Lead relationships with key transaction stakeholders, including trustees, sponsors, insurers, and other advisers.
- Advise clients on their wider journey to settlement, including preparation for entering the settlement market and assessing transaction feasibility.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders to identify and develop new settlement opportunities.
- Play a central role in new business opportunities, propositions, and strategic initiatives.
- Use strong knowledge of the pension risk settlement market to develop innovative solutions for clients.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives, market engagement, conferences, and other external-facing activities.
- Support the continued growth and development of the wider Risk Settlement team.
- Contribute to the development of new strategies, propositions, and approaches across the client portfolio.
- Coach, mentor, and support colleagues, helping to develop future leaders within the team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider pensions business to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

Experience & Skills Required:
- Strong track record of delivering pension risk settlement transactions.
- Broad experience across the UK pensions industry, combined with strong technical knowledge.
- Experience working across transactions such as buy-ins, buy-outs, longevity swaps, or other pension risk transfer solutions.
- Strong understanding of the UK pension risk settlement market and the key considerations involved in preparing schemes for settlement.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and transactions from inception through to completion.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience building relationships with trustees, sponsors, insurers, and other advisers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to operate at a senior level.
- Commercially minded, with experience contributing to new business opportunities and/or proposition development.
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to balance attention to detail with the wider commercial and client objectives.
- Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or developing colleagues.
- Self-motivated and ambitious, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent industry experience would be desirable.
- Significant experience within the UK pensions industry is essential.
