Job Description
Our company is seeking an experienced Senior Robotics Engineer to join our engineering department. In this role, you will work closely with other members of the engineering team to develop, integrate, test, and improve robotic and autonomous systems for marine and ground applications. You should be comfortable taking ownership of technical tasks, working across software and hardware, and supporting systems through integration and field testing. A strong understanding and hands-on experience with robotics and autonomous systems is essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robotic system architecture for autonomous systems such as UGVs and USVs.
- Develop and optimize algorithms for autonomous navigation, sensor fusion, perception, path and motion planning, localization, and state estimation.
- Design, develop, optimize, and integrate control, planning, and decision-making systems and sub-systems for autonomous platforms.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, communications systems, and mission payloads onto autonomous vehicles and vessels.
- Collaborate with in-house and third-party multidisciplinary teams on development and integration projects.
- Plan and carry out simulated and real-world testing of prototypes, new features, and complete robotic systems.
- Support mechanical integration and, where required, CAD design of mounts or small components for robotic systems.
- Perform mechanical and software calibration of actuators and sensors.
- Take ownership of development tasks and projects, including technical documentation and project updates.
- Support system integration, commissioning, field trials, troubleshooting, and customer demonstrations when required.
- Stay updated with relevant advancements in robotics and autonomous systems and recommend or implement suitable technologies into projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
